Creighton University Research Day Thursday

Creighton University's annual showcase of student and faculty research is slated for Thursday, March 30.

St. Albert's Day/University Research Day is a celebration of the variety and value of the undergraduate, graduate and professional student and faculty research taking place on Creighton's campus in the past year. This year's event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the Ahmanson Ballroom of the Harper Center, 602 N. 20th St., on the Creighton campus.

A total of 126 research posters and 36 oral presentations will be presented throughout the day, with faculty judges bestowing awards on the best oral and poster presentations for undergraduate, graduate and professional students.

Faculty recipients of Haddix, Summer Faculty Fellowship or Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship grants will also be presenting their research.

Four graduate students will compete for the People's Choice Award in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition at 11:30 a.m., followed by the presentation of the 2017 University Research Awards to Nancy Hanson, PhD, professor of medical microbiology, and Michael Kelly, professor of law. Each of the award recipients will give a brief talk about their research.
