May is breezing by -- but there's still plenty of chances to enjoy a fun family event celebrating Nebraska Bird Month.
Tons of events are happening May 18, the one day each year when it's completely free to enter a state park.
Here's just a few Bird Month events taking place that day:
- Bird Day, Fort Atkinson State Historical Park: The day's fun includes a bird banding demonstration, a habitat tour and an eagle presentation.
- Birds, Bugs and Bluegill, Keller Park State Recreation Area: Join us for birding, fishing and pollinator themed activities!
- Feathered Friends Hike, Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area: Explore the gorgeous landscape of Wildcat Hills as we search for birds and view wildflowers.
Events continue throughout the rest of the month. Find one near you -- as well as details of the events listed above -- at our website.the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission website at www.OutdoorNebraska.org.
