No USDA Potato Stock Report for Nebraska

The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service will not publish an estimate of Nebraska potatoes in storage on June 1, 2017 to avoid disclosing data for individual operations.

The 13 major potato States held 55.5 million cwt of potatoes in storage June 1, 2017, up 8 percent from June 1, 2016. Potatoes in storage accounted for 14 percent of the fall storage States' 2016 production, 1 percent more than last year. Potato disappearance, at 350 million cwt, was up 1 percent from June 1, 2016. Season-to-date shrink and loss, at 25.4 million cwt, was 9 percent higher than the same time last year. Processors in the 8 major States used 183 million cwt of potatoes for the season, up 2 percent from June 2016.

The 13 major potato states are, in descending order of production: Idaho, Washington, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Colorado, Oregon, Michigan, Minnesota, Maine, Nebraska, New York, Montana and California.
