Travel Stipends Available for National Training Conference

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) is pleased to offer travel stipends to attend the 2017 National Brownfields Training Conference in Pittsburg, Pa., Dec. 5-7. Complete information about the conference can be found on-line at

To help defray travel costs, NDEQ is offering a limited number of travel stipends of up-to $1,200 to representatives of community/county government and non-profit organizations. The following travel expenses are eligible for reimbursement: airfare, hotel lodging, and conference registration fees. Copies of receipts for airfare, lodging, and registration must be submitted along with the conference attendance verification form in order to receive the stipend in the form of reimbursement of actual travel costs.

If you would like to be considered for a travel stipend, please write a simple statement of request that includes the following information: your name; the community, governmental entity, or non-profit organization that you represent; and a brief description of your interest in brownfields and how attendance at the conference will benefit your organization. Stipends of actual travel costs will be paid directly to your organization. Individuals representing themselves or for-profit organizations are not eligible for this travel stipend.
