Aggie Rodeo: Nebraska to Iowa
Nebraska Ag Connection - 09/24/2021

The rodeo team from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture at Curtis heads to Iowa this weekend.

NCTA Aggie athletes will compete at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge Sept. 24-25.

Four Aggies entered a double set of rodeos in North Platte last weekend and came up short in the payout of the Mid-Plains Community College Stampede held at the Buffalo Bill Wild West Arena.

Nathan Burnett of Shelton rides saddle broncs; Ellie Stohlmann of Ashland team ropes and barrel races, and Alexx Malchow of Beatrice and Celeste Tanguay of Derby Center, Vermont, both race barrels as well.

Aggie contestants entered in Iowa include Burnett, Stohlmann, Malchow, and Callie Bauer of Arcadia who team ropes with a partner from North Dakota.

They will join NCTA Coach Jaden Clark in traveling to the team's third rodeo of the season.

The season finale is a double rodeo at Dickenson State University in North Dakota on Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

A new activity started this fall for NCTA Rodeo has been the 2021 Round Robin Team Roping Series, which is each Tuesday night in Curtis until Nov. 9.

The 10-week series at the Mill Park outdoor arena in Curtis, or at the NCTA Livestock Teaching Center indoor arena on campus, is open with advance registration for roping headers and heelers.

Proceeds are split between the winning header and heeler, and the NCTA Rodeo Team.
