The Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB) has announced its endorsements for candidates running in upcoming Nebraska Legislature elections. Through the Nebraska Farm Bureau Political Action Committee (NEFB-PAC), the organization is supporting candidates it believes will represent the interests of Nebraska's agricultural community and rural residents.
The endorsement process considers candidates' positions on key agricultural and rural issues, along with recommendations from evaluation committees made up of Nebraska Farm Bureau farmers and ranchers. NEFB says this approach helps ensure that the concerns of agricultural producers are represented in state government.
Nebraska Farm Bureau views strong legislative leadership as essential for an industry that remains a major contributor to the state's economy. The organization emphasizes the importance of electing leaders who understand the role of farming and ranching in supporting food production, rural communities, and economic growth.
In open legislative races, NEFB-PAC has endorsed Patrick Leahy of Omaha (District 6), Bill Bowes of La Vista (District 14), Taylor Royal of Bennington (District 18), and Mark Schoenrock of Diller (District 32). The organization believes these candidates can effectively address issues affecting agriculture and rural Nebraska.
The committee has also endorsed incumbent lawmakers seeking reelection, including R. Brad von Gillern of Elkhorn (District 4), Merv Riepe of Ralston (District 12), Loren Lippincott of Central City (District 34), and Rick Holdcroft of Bellevue (District 36). Nebraska Farm Bureau said it is confident these candidates can provide leadership on matters important to farmers, ranchers, rural communities, and the state's economy.
As the election season continues, NEFB-PAC plans to support the endorsed candidates throughout their campaigns. The organization believes the selected candidates have the experience and understanding needed to help guide Nebraska's future while addressing the needs of the agricultural sector.
