Nebraska Extension is stepping up to enhance the financial acumen of the agricultural community with an innovative online course on Quicken. Designed specifically for farmers, ranchers, and agricultural business managers, this course promises to revolutionize financial record-keeping in the Agri-sector.
Developed in collaboration with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Center for Agricultural Profitability and originally by Oklahoma State University, this course guides participants through creating a comprehensive set of financial records.
The course is hosted on NU Advance, the University of Nebraska’s platform for non-credit and professional development courses. It spans seven modules, filled with videos, interactive activities, and quizzes, all designed to be engaging and informative.
Participants can navigate through the course at their own pace, with the entire program taking roughly three and a half hours to complete. A generous 60-day completion window ensures flexibility for busy agricultural professionals.
Jessica Groskopf, an extension educator with the Center for Agricultural Profitability, emphasizes the importance of robust financial management for the success of any farm or ranch.
The course not only aims to build a solid Quicken foundation but also customizes its application to meet the unique needs of the agricultural industry.
This educational initiative was made possible through funding from the Southern Risk Management Education Center. For those interested in sharpening their financial record-keeping skills with Quicken, registration details are available on the Center for Agricultural Profitability’s website.
This course represents a critical resource for the agricultural community, fostering stronger financial practices for a more profitable future.
