Giltner, located in one of the leading corn-producing regions, has a strong agricultural background. However, it wasn’t until recently that this farming heritage made its way into the school system. The local school introduced an agricultural education program during the last academic year, marking a new chapter in connecting students with their community’s agricultural roots.
Kelsey Schulte, who leads the program, expressed her gratitude for the support she has received since the launch of the course. The program has already made a significant impact, encouraging students to explore careers in agriculture and engage in hands-on learning experiences.
Among the students excelling in this new initiative are Fallon Hunnicutt, Wyatt Almquist, Peyton Schutt, and Tanner Schelkopf. These students have shown great interest and dedication to agricultural studies and will be representing their school in the agri-science competition at the upcoming state FFA convention.
Their hard work and enthusiasm are a reflection of the program’s early success and the promising future of agriculture education in the school. For their achievements and commitment, these students have been recognized as the Outstanding Ag Youth of the Month for March 2025. Congratulations to them for this well-deserved honor.
