The 2024 Summer Soybean Institute, scheduled for May 29-30 and July 16-18, invites twenty middle and high school teachers to the West Central Research, Extension, and Education Center and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s East Campus.
This event is an excellent opportunity for educators to immerse themselves in the agricultural significance of soybeans in Nebraska.
Participants will engage with content experts from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, along with representatives from the Nebraska Soybean Board and local educational leaders.
These sessions are designed to equip teachers with the necessary tools to ignite a passion for soybeans among their students.
Through a combination of expert presentations and hands-on activities, educators will develop a systematic understanding of soybeans as a complex agricultural system.
The program aims to foster an environment where teachers can learn innovative ways to integrate the story of soybeans into their curriculum, enhancing student engagement and knowledge about this vital crop.
This unique educational initiative not only highlights the importance of soybeans in Nebraska but also supports teachers in becoming ambassadors of agricultural education in their classrooms.
