East Campus Days Feature Markets

By Scout Nelson

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln will kick off its 2025 East Campus Discovery Days and Farmers Market on June 14. The summer event will also be held on July 12 and August 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering a mix of agriculture, science, and community fun.

The event is open to everyone and aims to connect visitors with the vibrant life on East Campus. Guests will enjoy a full farmers market with fresh local produce and handmade goods. Live music will keep the atmosphere lively, while food trucks offer a variety of tasty meals and snacks.

For those interested in plants and gardening, the Botanical Garden and Arboretum and the Backyard Farmer Garden will be available for tours and exploration. Each Discovery Day includes engaging activities and exhibits from local science groups, Nebraska 4-H, robotics programs, and arts and crafts stations designed for kids and families.

On August 9, the UNL Rodeo Club is also expected to participate, adding to the excitement and showcasing another side of campus life.

Discovery Days are designed to be fun, educational, and inclusive. They provide hands-on learning for students and community members alike, while celebrating agriculture, technology, art, and education. These events also give families a unique chance to explore UNL’s East Campus in a festive and welcoming environment.

For more information about East Campus Discovery Days, visit the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s website. No registration is required, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
