The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Nebraska partners with Nebraska Extension to host a series of in-person meetings on the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs.
The meetings take place November 4–6, 2026, in seven Nebraska communities. They help farmers understand program rules, review changes, and make informed choices for the 2026 and 2027 crop years.
ARC and PLC are important for federal farm safety net programs. They help eligible producers manage certain risks related to farm revenue and crop prices. The programs are extended through the 2031 production season under the Working Families Tax Cuts Act.
Farmers can make ARC or PLC elections and enroll with FSA for the 2026 crop year through December 11, 2026. Enrollment for the 2027 crop year runs from November 2, 2026, through March 15, 2027.
During the meetings, FSA staff explain how the programs work and highlight changes made under the Working Families Tax Cuts Act. Participants also review examples of possible program payments.
Representatives from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Center for Agricultural Profitability (CAP) provide program analysis and introduce tools that can help farmers compare options. This information helps producers assess their choices based on their farm's needs.
The meetings are free, but registration is requested. Farmers can register at cap.unl.edu/farmprograms/#register or contact the local Extension office listed for each location.
