Second Annual Day of Caring for the Family Caregiver
Nebraska Ag Connection - 06/08/2018

If you are a family caregiver, a provider or would like to increase awareness, education and statewide support for caregivers, then this day is for you. For the second year in a row, the Nebraska Caregiver Coalition, Nebraska Lifespan Respite Network and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) are joining forces to bring information of importance to the family caregiver. This event will be held July 18 at Faith Regional Health Services-Missouri Room, 2700 W Norfolk Ave., in Norfolk from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A Day of Caring is a one-day, free community event that serves as a one-stop resource for family caregivers looking for connections to help them navigate the complex world of caring for loved ones living with a disability or chronic healthcare need. It is also a great opportunity for family caregivers to network with others who are going through the same thing.

Throughout the day, speakers will be presenting on a variety of topics that may be beneficial to caregivers, including: veteran services and resources, area developmental disabilities resources, a fun DIY Caregiver Workshop and more.

The day provides a great opportunity to learn and socialize with state and local professionals who can answer questions about caregiving. A complimentary lunch will also be provided and door prizes will be given throughout the day.
