Nebraska Extension, in partnership with the Nebraska Soybean Board, U.S. Soy, NSDA, and I-29 Moo University, will host an educational program focused on the use of fats, soy products, and high oleic soybeans in beef and dairy cattle feeding systems.
The one-day event will take place on September,29, 2026, at the Nielsen Community Center in West Point, Nebraska. It is designed for livestock producers, nutritionists, agronomists, and agricultural professionals interested in soybean-based feeding strategies.
University specialists, industry experts, and producers will discuss topics including high oleic soybean production, agronomic considerations, identity preservation, processing methods, and on-farm roasting. Sessions will also examine practical feeding applications for both beef and dairy cattle.
Participants will learn about the opportunities and management considerations associated with incorporating soy products and high oleic soybeans into livestock diets. Discussions will focus on feed value, handling requirements, and strategies that can support efficient cattle production.
The program will also provide opportunities for attendees to interact with researchers, nutrition experts, and industry representatives. These conversations are intended to help producers make informed decisions about feed ingredients, processing options, and feeding practices.
Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m., with educational sessions running from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including lunch. The event offers a practical opportunity to explore current research, industry developments, and innovations in soybean utilization for beef and dairy operations.
