The Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB) has announced additional endorsements for the 2026 general election and expressed support for Amendment No. 1, a proposal that would extend legislative term limits from two to three consecutive terms. The endorsements were made by the Nebraska Farm Bureau Political Action Committee (NEFB-PAC), which evaluates candidates on issues important to agriculture, rural communities, natural resources, and energy.
The endorsement process includes input from Farm Bureau members and recommendations from district evaluation committees. NEFB-PAC said its goal is to support candidates who understand the challenges facing farmers, ranchers, and rural communities across Nebraska.
Among the newly endorsed legislative candidates are Barry DeKay for Legislative District 40 and Teresa Ibach for Legislative District 44. The organization also endorsed Bill Tielke for Nebraska Public Power District Subdivision 2, Kevin Connot for Northeast Public Power District Subdivision 8, and Mark Patton for Lower Platte South Natural Resources District Subdistrict 2.
NEFB-PAC also announced its support for Amendment No. 1, which would allow Nebraska legislators to serve a third consecutive term. Supporters believe the measure would give voters the option to retain experienced lawmakers while maintaining term limits.
The announcement also highlights NEFB-PAC’s broader list of endorsements for federal, statewide, legislative, education, public power, and local offices. These endorsements reflect the organization’s efforts to support policies that strengthen agriculture, rural economies, and Nebraska communities.
Through its candidate endorsements and support for Amendment No. 1, Nebraska Farm Bureau aims to advance issues that are important to farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses throughout the state.
