The USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has launched AgInsights, a new platform designed to make agricultural data easier to access, analyze, and use. The tool is part of the agency’s modernization efforts and aims to improve how producers, agribusinesses, researchers, and other stakeholders interact with agricultural statistics.
AgInsights enhances existing NASS data services by bringing maps, charts, and tables together in a single web-based platform. This integrated approach allows users to quickly find relevant information and make better-informed decisions using the latest agricultural data.
The platform was developed to provide timely and actionable information for producers facing changing market conditions and production challenges. NASS also designed the tool to expand access to agricultural statistics and help ensure that producers of all sizes can benefit from the data.
Before its launch, NASS worked with agricultural data users who tested the platform and provided feedback. Their input helped shape the tool’s functionality and improve its accessibility, usability, and data visualization features.
One of AgInsights’ key features is its ability to combine traditional data tables with interactive charts and geographic maps. This allows users to compare trends, explore information more efficiently, and gain deeper insights from agricultural data.
Built using modern technologies, the platform supports long-term updates and future enhancements. Its user-friendly design makes it easier to sort, filter, and visualize information while improving the overall experience for users.
AgInsights also includes producer-focused tools such as customized analytics, mobile optimization, and interactive data exploration capabilities. These features help users evaluate information specific to their operations and apply agricultural statistics more effectively.
The platform utilizes NASS’s Quick Stats database while offering a more visual and interactive interface. Features such as interactive maps and time-series charts help users identify trends and better understand agricultural data over time.
With the introduction of AgInsights, NASS is advancing its efforts to modernize agricultural data delivery. The new platform is expected to provide producers and industry stakeholders with a more efficient way to access information and support data-driven decision-making.
