Hosted by Nebraska Extension and Northeast Community College, the event will focus on practical strategies to improve cattle performance, efficiency, and profitability.
The program will bring together university specialists, industry representatives, and local producers to discuss current challenges facing the beef industry. Sessions will cover management practices and emerging technologies that can help producers make informed decisions for their operations.
An optional hands-on session will give attendees a chance to explore cattle-handling techniques and new technologies used in modern beef production. Demonstrations will include biometric ear tags and tools that support data collection and herd management.
The evening program will begin with an update from Nebraska Cattlemen, followed by discussions on beef cow reproductive traits, herd selection, winter feeding programs, and backgrounding strategies. These sessions will provide practical information to help producers strengthen herd performance and manage costs.
Additional presentations will focus on pasture conditions, forage management, and livestock health concerns. Participants will also receive updates on New World screwworm and other issues that could affect cattle operations in the coming years.
The event will conclude with a producer panel discussing the use of technology in cow-calf operations. Producers will share real-world experiences and insights into adopting new tools that can improve management and productivity.
