Quarterly Webinar Covers Ag Land Insights

Quarterly Webinar Covers Ag Land Insights

By Scout Nelson

The Center for Agricultural Profitability is continuing its Agricultural Land Management Quarterly webinar series, with the next session scheduled for August 18, 2025, at Noon CT. This ongoing series provides valuable guidance for Nebraska landowners, agricultural producers, and others interested in managing farmland effectively.

Hosted since 2019, these webinars occur every third Monday of February, May, August, and November. The sessions are led by Jim Jansen and Anastasia Meyer, agricultural economists from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

The upcoming summer webinar will cover findings from the final 2025 Nebraska Farm Real Estate Survey and Report. Key topics include updated agricultural land values, cash rental rates, and a special report comparing hunting lease opportunities for wild game in Nebraska.

A featured segment will focus on landlord and tenant communication. Presenters will provide advice on discussing crop progress on leased land and guide participants through the proper steps to terminate verbal leases before the legal deadline.

“Ask the Experts” returns as the closing segment, allowing attendees to get their land and lease questions answered directly by the economists. Participants may also submit questions in advance through the provided online form.

“Offered since 2019, the quarterly webinars address common management issues for Nebraska landowners, agricultural operators, and related stakeholders interested in the latest insight on trends in real estate, managing agricultural land and solutions for addressing challenges in the upcoming growing season.”

The Agricultural Land Management Quarterly webinars are a reliable source for practical land management strategies and updated agricultural information. These sessions serve as a helpful resource for making well-informed land use and leasing decisions in Nebraska’s evolving farming landscape.
