Environmental Foundation Offering Seed Internships

The Meadowlark Hearth Living Environment Foundation is offering seed internships at its facilities on Everett Drive outside Scottsbluff. The biodynamic vegetable seed internship will incorporate a whole farm approach and is aailable March through November
with an option to stay into December to learn seed cleaning and testing.
Focal points of MHLEF experience include organic and biodynamic farming on 500 plus acres. The operation is NOP organic and Demeter Biodynamic certified. It does intensive horticultural production on 4 acres with a focus on vegetable seed production
integrated into a CSA/Market vegetable garden. Activities include field preparation, cultivation growing, harvesting, threshing, cleaning, and packing seed for sale, and selling vegetables at a local farmer's market. The farm includes a grass fed micro dairy with
intensive grazing for small herd of Ayrshire/Shorthorn cows for the farm's fertility. Included in the internship is learning about the dairy and grazing.
