Backyard Farmer Returns for Garden Season

Backyard Farmer is returning for another season of gardening education and outdoor advice, offering viewers expert guidance throughout the 2026 growing season. The long-running television program airs weekly from April through September and continues to serve as a trusted source for homeowners, gardeners, and nature enthusiasts across Nebraska and surrounding areas.

The program airs Thursdays at 7 p.m. Central Time on Nebraska Public Media. Additional broadcasts are available Saturdays at 10 a.m. Central Time on Nebraska Public Media, Sundays at 4 p.m. Central Time on Create, and Mondays at 5 p.m. Central Time on Create. The May 7 broadcast is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will be available virtually through Nebraska Public Media.

Backyard Farmer provides weekly advice from specialists in horticulture, plant pathology, entomology, wildlife management, and turf care. The program helps viewers understand common gardening problems while offering practical and environmentally friendly solutions for lawns, landscapes, gardens, and outdoor spaces.
