Registration is now open for the North American Manure Expo, which will take place from July 28 to 30 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wayne, Nebraska. This event is organized by Nebraska Extension’s Animal Manure Management team and brings together experts, educators, and industry professionals.
The expo offers a variety of learning opportunities and activities designed to promote better manure management practices. On July 28, participants can join guided tours that begin early in the morning. These tours cover topics such as composting, renewable energy, livestock innovation, poultry production, and regenerative farming. A special family friendly tour is also included, focusing on agriculture, wildlife, and regional history.
Although registration is required for tours, attendees can still join the main trade show without participating in them. On July 29 and 30, the expo will host a large trade show where visitors can explore equipment displays, watch live demonstrations, and interact with exhibitors. The trade show will feature manufacturers and service providers from across the manure management industry.
Educational sessions are a major highlight of the event. These sessions will cover important topics such as safe manure handling, sampling methods, differences in regulations across regions, and the role of manure in improving soil health. Attendees can also learn about managing contaminants and using manure in effective nitrogen management.
Panel discussions are a new addition to the expo. These discussions will allow participants to share ideas and learn about key topics like career opportunities in manure management and managing plastic waste in agriculture. The event continues to follow its mission of promoting professionalism in manure management.
The North American Manure Expo is supported by Extension organizations from the United States and Canada, along with industry partners. Registration for the event is available online, and early bird pricing is offered until June 30.
This event provides valuable knowledge, practical skills, and networking opportunities for anyone interested in improving agricultural sustainability through proper management.
