Nebraska Extension will host a three-part virtual fencing webinar series on November 17, 19, and 23, 2026, to help cattle producers learn about available technologies, current research, and practical grazing applications. The free online sessions will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Central Time and include presentations and panel discussions.
The webinar series will bring together University of Nebraska-Lincoln researchers, virtual fencing companies, and livestock producers who have adopted the technology. Participants will gain insights into research findings, product options, and real-world experiences to help evaluate whether virtual fencing fits their operations.
The November 17 session will focus on virtual fencing research, including cattle stress responses, pasture management, rangeland grazing, strip grazing, and grazing move frequency. Researchers will also discuss potential future cost-share opportunities that could support technology adoption.
On November 19, industry representatives from Halter, Monil, Nofence, and eShepherd (Gallagher) will present their virtual fencing systems and demonstrate key product features and management applications. Producers will be able to compare platforms and learn how the technology is used to manage livestock and grazing boundaries.
The final session on November 23 will feature livestock producers sharing their experiences with virtual fencing. Speakers will discuss the benefits, challenges, and lessons learned from implementing the technology in their grazing operations.
The webinar series is designed to help producers better understand virtual fencing, compare available systems, and identify management strategies that can improve grazing efficiency and pasture utilization. Attendance is free through sponsorship support from Halter, Monil, Nofence, and eShepherd (Gallagher).
