Regenerative Farming Classes Start Soon

Regenerative Farming Classes Start Soon

By Scout Nelson

Nebraska Extension and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service are offering a new summer learning opportunity focused on regenerative agriculture practices. The Regenerative Agriculture Learning Hub program provides farmers and agricultural professionals with science-based information about sustainable farming methods and their environmental and economic benefits.

The next virtual course session will begin on Monday, June 15. Organizers announced there is no cost to participate in the program, making it accessible for producers and agriculture professionals across Nebraska.

The two-month online course introduces participants to important regenerative agriculture practices that support long-term farm productivity and environmental protection. The program also focuses on management strategies that can help producers improve soil health, conserve resources, and build stronger farming systems.

Participants will study several important topics connected to modern agriculture in Nebraska. These include efficient resource use, soil and water conservation, climate-resilient farming systems, cover crops, diversified cropping systems, crop and livestock integration, and nutrient and manure management practices.

Program leaders say the training is designed to help producers better understand how regenerative agriculture practices can improve farm sustainability while supporting productivity and natural resources. The course also allows participants to learn from agriculture experts through a flexible virtual format.

Continuing education unit credits are available for participants who complete the course modules. Individuals may complete one or two modules if they only need CEU credits. Those who complete all three modules will earn a digital badge in regenerative agriculture along with a total of 6.5 CEUs.

The virtual format allows producers, educators, and agricultural professionals to participate in different locations without travel requirements. Officials believe the program will support ongoing education and encourage more conservation-focused farming practices throughout the state.

More information about the course is available through CropWatch and Regenerative Agriculture Learning Hub.

Participants can register online through the official program page at Regenerative Agriculture Registration Link.
