Nebraska Extension, in collaboration with local Nebraska Cattlemen’s affiliates, is hosting programs to help cattle producers plan grazing and feeding strategies for 2025. The events will provide practical insights into profitable cowherd management amidst drought and fluctuating cattle prices.

Scottsbluff: Tuesday, Dec. 17. Registration at 4:45 p.m.; the program starts at 5 p.m. Supper provided. Call 308-632-1480 by Dec. 17 to pre-register. Held at the Bluestem Room, Panhandle Research and Extension Center.
Program Topics
- Rangeland Forage Production Tools: Dr. Mitch Stephenson will showcase rangeland analysis tools to help producers estimate and plan grazing needs.
- Strategic Summer Supplementation: Dr. Karla Wilke will discuss protein and energy supplementation strategies for yearlings and cows, focusing on timing, amounts, and cost-effectiveness.
- Optimal Genetics for Herd Management: Aaron Berger will explain genetic trends and selection impacts, helping producers optimize cow-calf operations.
These free programs are designed to equip producers with actionable knowledge to manage herds efficiently. Supper will be served, and pre-registration is required for meal counts.
