A Record Number of Entries
The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) recently announced the winners of their annual poster contest, adding to the celebration of National Ag Week in the state. This year’s contest received a record number of entries, with over 2,100 submissions from students in grades 1-6.
Highlighting the Importance of Agriculture
The entries, all highlighting agriculture and celebrating the state’s number one industry, showed that the students involved understand how important agriculture is to Nebraska. According to NDA Director Sherry Vinton, “NDA teammates look forward to this poster contest every year and are amazed at how many talented, young artists we have in Nebraska.”
Promoting Agriculture Through Art
In addition to promoting the recognition of the agricultural industry, the poster contest also aims to celebrate the diversity of agriculture and those who work in the industry. Winning posters depicting this year’s theme of “Celebrating Nebraska Agriculture” can be viewed on NDA’s website, along with the names of the schools submitting entries.
