Nebraska Conference Highlights Spray Drones in Modern Agriculture

By Scout Nelson

The Nebraska Agriculture and Spray Drone Conference returns for its third year, hosted by Nebraska Extension and Northeast Community College in Norfolk. The two-day event will be held on August 21-22 at the college campus.

Known as the largest agriculture drone conference in the Midwest, the event draws industry leaders, researchers, legal experts, and drone innovators. Attendees can expect a packed schedule of education, collaboration, and the latest insights in drone technology.

Leading experts returning this year include Steve Li from Auburn University, Julius Petri of Pix4D, Jonathan Rupprecht of Rupprecht Law, Al Brunner from the Federal Aviation Administration, and Kevin Knorr of Volitant Technologies.

New speakers joining the lineup are Nathan Stein from AirStrikeAg, Tim Pearson of Taranis, Vaughn Tolbert of VT Insurance, and Joel Jones from Orange Coast College.

The conference focuses on advancing the use of spray drones in agriculture, exploring both their capabilities and challenges in modern farming. Topics will range from drone applications in pesticide use to legal regulations and technical innovations.

This year’s event also introduces a remote attendance option for those unable to attend in person. For in-person attendees, the first 75 registrants on day one will receive a complimentary copy of “The Evolution of Spray Drones” by Purdue University.

With the growing role of technology in farming, this conference helps connect farmers, innovators, and experts to the latest tools that improve farm practices.
