Nebraska Extension has announced the 2026 Beef Feedlot Roundtable Series, scheduled for February 17 through February 19 at three locations across western and central Nebraska. The educational series is designed for feedlot owners, managers, employees, and allied industry professionals seeking practical and research-based information.
The roundtable series will focus on key topics such as feedlot management, cattle health, nutrition strategies, and beef market outlooks. Nebraska Extension developed the program to provide timely insights that participants can apply directly to improve efficiency, animal performance, and decision making within feedlot operations.
Each roundtable session will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost to attend is $20, payable at the door by cash or check, and lunch will be provided. Pre-registration is requested to help organizers plan meals and seating.
The event schedule includes three locations. On February 17, the roundtable will be held in Bridgeport, Nebraska, at the Prairie Winds Community Center, located at 428 North Main Street. On February 18, the program moves to Gothenburg, Nebraska, at the Bayer Water Utilization Learning Center, 76268 NE 47. The final session will take place on February 19 in West Point, Nebraska, at the Nielsen Community Center, 200 Anna Stalp Avenue.
Featured presentations will cover a wide range of topics important to feedlot success. Sessions will include strategies for maximizing calf gain during the backgrounding phase, managing cattle health from feedlot arrival through finishing, updates on University of Nebraska–Lincoln research, information on New World screwworm risks, and an overview of the beef cattle market outlook.
