The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Center for Agricultural Profitability and Nebraska Extension have hired David Haupt as a financial analyst to provide free, confidential consultations for Nebraska farmers and ranchers. His role is designed to help agricultural producers navigate financial challenges and make informed decisions about their operations.
Haupt will work directly with producers on issues such as debt management, budget development, financial planning, and evaluating the overall health of their businesses. He will also help farmers and ranchers understand the financial impact of different risk management strategies.
In addition to one-on-one consultations, Haupt will support the Center for Agricultural Profitability’s educational programs. He will contribute to workshops, online courses, and publications focused on farm and ranch finance and management.
Haupt brings more than 45 years of agricultural lending experience to the position, including work in commercial banking and with Farm Credit Services of America. His extensive background gives him valuable insight into the financial challenges and opportunities facing agricultural operations.
Originally from South Dakota, Haupt grew up on a farm and has lived in Nebraska since 1984. He is based at the Nebraska Extension office in Buffalo County and will work with producers across the state.
