Managing risks in livestock production - RMA's virtual roadshow

Managing risks in livestock production - RMA's virtual roadshow

By Scout Nelson

From January 26 to February 26, 2024, the Risk Management Agency (RMA) is offering a valuable opportunity for livestock producers through their "Livestock Roadshow" webinar series.  Held virtually on Zoom from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, this event is open to the public and targets all livestock producers, from beef to dairy to pork.

Understanding the unique challenges faced by livestock producers, the RMA aims to educate on various livestock insurance policies and how they can be integrated into broader risk management strategies for optimal operation protection.  This series is particularly beneficial for those looking to deepen their understanding of risk management in the livestock sector.

The webinar will cover a range of topics, including Annual Forage, Dairy Revenue Protection, Livestock Gross Margin, Livestock Risk Protection, Pasture, Rangeland and Forage, and Weaned Calf Risk Protection.  These sessions are designed based on feedback from American livestock producers, ensuring the content is relevant and practical.

By participating in this two-hour webinar, producers will gain insights into the latest updates and improvements to several livestock risk management products. It’s an excellent opportunity for producers to stay informed about the resources available to them and to have their questions answered by experts in the field.

To join this informative event, interested individuals are encouraged to register for the webinar. This initiative by the RMA represents a significant step in supporting livestock producers in their continual effort to manage risks and sustain profitability in their operations.
