Multiple Bison Put Down After Escaping From Northern Maine Farm

Police say the group of bison that escaped from a farm in northern Maine have been put down.

According to police, the owner of the bison had people come to the area and dispatch the animals. Police were not involved in putting the animals down.

Police say at least six bison escaped from a farm on Presque Isle Road in Fort Fairfield on Saturday.

On Monday, police say the owner of the bison was able to return one of the animals back to its pasture.
