Nebraska Webinar on 2025 Cash Rents

Nebraska Webinar on 2025 Cash Rents

By Scout Nelson

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Center for Agricultural Profitability will host an Agricultural Land Management Quarterly webinar on August 18 at noon. The webinar will focus on the latest trends in Nebraska’s 2025 cash rental rates, lease arrangements, and strategies for improving landlord-tenant communication.

These webinars are held quarterly and provide valuable insights for Nebraska landowners, agricultural operators, and stakeholders. They cover critical issues related to land management, real estate trends, and the challenges faced by landowners and tenants in the upcoming growing season.

The August session will feature recent findings from the 2025 Nebraska Farm Real Estate Report, which includes data on average cash rental rates, land values, and the evolving trends in hunting lease arrangements. One special segment of the webinar will address how to effectively terminate verbal lease agreements and improve communication between landlords and tenants. It will also include practical advice on managing crop progress on leased land and important considerations for the fall harvest.

The session will conclude with an “Ask the Experts” segment, offering attendees the opportunity to receive live answers to their land or lease management questions. The presenters encourage participants to submit their land management questions in advance to ensure a comprehensive discussion.

The webinar will be led by Jim Jansen and Anastasia Meyer, both experts from the Department of Agricultural Economics. Jansen is a specialist in agricultural finance, land economics, and the Nebraska Farm Real Estate Market Survey. Meyer focuses on rental negotiations and leasing arrangements, bringing valuable expertise to the discussion.
