Cattle producers, land managers, and industry partners are invited to attend a special Virtual Fence Field Day on Tuesday, August 12, beginning at 9:00 a.m. MT near Hemingford, Nebraska. The event will be held at 7551 Johnson Rd Lot 2 and is hosted in partnership between Halter and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension.
This in-person field day will give attendees a chance to see virtual fencing technology in action on a demonstration herd grazing irrigated cropland. The local producer currently using the system will share practical experiences, including the benefits and challenges of managing cattle with virtual fencing.
A Halter representative, Jack Keating, will be present to explain how the system works and answer questions. He will discuss how virtual fencing collars guide cattle without physical fences, making pasture rotation and livestock control more efficient.
Nebraska Extension specialists will also speak at the event, offering insight on grazing strategies and how virtual fencing supports better land use, labor savings, and pasture stewardship.
According to organizers, “The event is free to attend and will include a demonstration, open discussion, lunch, and time for networking with fellow producers and experts.”
Participants will enjoy a live demonstration, informative discussions, and opportunities to connect with experts and peers. This is a valuable chance to explore new tools that could make cattle operations more flexible and sustainable.
The field day shows how technology is changing livestock management and helping landowners adapt to new challenges in agriculture. No registration is required, and everyone is welcome to attend.
