Nebraska ag students vie for $1000 Sitzman scholarship

By Scout Nelson

Sophia Lentfer, Director of Education for Nebraska Pork Producers, has announced the Larry E. Sitzman Youth in Nebraska Agriculture Scholarship, a program aimed at encouraging college students interested in agricultural studies.

Larry E. Sitzman's legacy continues to inspire through this scholarship, which reflects his lifelong dedication to agriculture and leadership. Aspiring to enrich Nebraska's agricultural future, the scholarship is designed for those with a profound respect for their country and a passion for the ag industry.

A $1000 reward awaits one ambitious student who exhibits the commitment to agriculture that Sitzman himself championed. To stand eligible, applicants must be engaged as full-time students in an agriculture-related program within Nebraska's accredited institutions and possess a forward-looking vision to contribute to the industry post-graduation.

With the November 10th application deadline approaching, students are encouraged to submit their credentials and share their ambitions for agricultural innovation and leadership. Final decisions will be made by mid-December, marking a significant step toward educational and professional success.

For application details and further guidance, reach out to Sophia Lentfer via email at sophia@nepork.org or phone at 531-500-3423.
