Nebraska's agricultural community is set for a financial boost with the announcement of free tax planning workshops. Scheduled in Scottsbluff and Kimball, these sessions are aimed at demystifying the complexities of farm and ranch tax reporting.
Aspiring to empower producers with essential knowledge, the workshops will focus on Schedule F, income tax brackets, and the nuts and bolts of cash versus accrual accounting.
Jessica Groskopf, an experienced Nebraska Extension Educator, will spearhead the Scottsbluff event on November 8, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Lied Scottsbluff Public Library.
Prospective attendees are encouraged to secure their spots by calling the Panhandle Research and Extension Center at 308-632-1230.
The following day, November 9, the Kimball County 4-H Building will host the workshop, mirroring the timing of its predecessor. Interested parties in the Kimball area can register by reaching out to the local Nebraska Extension office at 308-235-3122.
The 'Ag SmartMoney Week' initiative aims to improve financial knowledge in the agricultural sector, including risk management, estate planning, and farm technology, to boost profitability and sustainability of Nebraska's farms.
