The University of Nebraska Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) Digital Agriculture Task Force is organizing two upcoming events aimed at strengthening collaboration within the state’s digital agriculture community. These events are part of the Digital Agriculture Networking and Awareness Series, which supports the development of the Nebraska Digital Agriculture Hub.
Led by research assistant professor Guillermo Balboa, the initiative follows the successful IANR Digital Ag survey that identified strong interest and activity in ag technology across research, teaching, and extension programs.
“Our goal is to bring people together to share their ideas and build a stronger community for digital agriculture,” said Balboa. “We want to understand who’s doing what and find areas where collaboration can grow.”
Participants can engage in short Rapid Flash Talks to showcase their projects, join roundtable discussions to share insights, and connect over lunch with colleagues exploring digital tools and innovations in agriculture.
The events will be held at the Nebraska East Union in Lincoln—on November 4 in the Great Plains Room B and on December 8 in the Great Plains Room A—from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The IANR Digital Agriculture Task Force includes experts from multiple departments, including agronomy, horticulture, and agricultural economics. Future sessions will broaden participation to include farmers, industry partners, and government agencies as part of the growing Digital Ag Hub initiative.
