Nebraska cattle producers continue to receive significant support as they recover from the state's devastating wildfire losses. The Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund has raised more than $2.2 million from thousands of donors across the U.S. and several countries to help affected operations rebuild and recover.
Wildfire-impacted producers can apply for assistance through the Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund until September 1, 2026. Applications will be reviewed after the submission period closes, and all donated funds will be distributed to eligible producers.
Assistance is available to producers whose losses occurred in areas officially reported through the Nebraska Emergency Management Association Watch Center. Eligible counties include several wildfire-affected regions across the state.
The fund may help cover agricultural expenses not reimbursed by insurance or government programs. Eligible costs include fence repairs, livestock facility restoration, feed purchases, livestock disposal, veterinary expenses, and other wildfire recovery needs.
Applicants must provide complete documentation to support their claims. Receipts, invoices, photographs, and detailed records of livestock, fencing, grazing land, crop, hay, and feed losses can help verify damages.
