In a move that promises growth and dynamism, Gov. Jim Pillen has appointed Matt Sullivan as the District 2 Director of the Nebraska Corn Board. Sullivan, hailing from Superior, steps into the role formerly held by John Greer. Greer, known for his dedicated service since 2014, decided not to continue with the reappointment process.
Sullivan's interest in the board peaked due to the organization's goal of increasing the value of corn. As a fourth-generation farmer with a rich history in agriculture, he brings a unique blend of experience. After a stint in Oklahoma's food manufacturing, Sullivan felt the pull of his home state and farming roots. He returned to Nebraska in 2010. His leadership skills aren't new; he's headed the Superior School Board since 2016.
Jay Reiners, NCB's Chairman, expressed his excitement about Sullivan's appointment. The board sees great potential in Sullivan's diverse background, spanning farming, manufacturing, and food science. While they warmly welcome Sullivan, they also acknowledge the significant contributions of John Greer. The NCB announced Brandon Hunnicutt's reappointment as District 3 Director and reelected Jay Reiners, Brandon Hunnicutt, and Andy Groskopf to their respective positions. Executive Director Kelly Brunkhorst emphasized the leadership team's role in achieving the board's strategic goals.
