Nebraska Innovation Campus hosts Impact 2026

By Scout Nelson

Save the date for the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture Impact Conference, set for March 3–4, 2026, at Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln. This two-day showcase and strategy meeting will highlight collective achievements in teaching, research, and extension while building stronger connections with partners across the state and beyond.

Why this conference? The department will demonstrate the public value of its work for agriculture, the environment, and society; showcase innovative and emerging programs aligned with Nebraska’s needs; strengthen partnerships with industry, agencies, commodity boards, and community stakeholders; and engage graduate students, highlighting their role in advancing innovation. Together, attendees will celebrate accomplishments, share ideas, and help shape the future of agronomy and horticulture.

Benefits to the community include networking with faculty, students, industry professionals, agencies, and stakeholders; insights into cutting-edge research and extension programs that address sustainability, soil health, water quality, and crop productivity; and strategic collaboration opportunities to solve current and future challenges. Participants will also have direct engagement with advisory board members, policymakers, and community leaders.

Planning is underway. The conference committee is finalizing speakers, shaping engaging sessions, and building in time for collaboration and learning. Attendees can look forward to clear takeaways from plenary addresses, breakout discussions focused on Nebraska’s priorities, poster competitions that showcase student innovation, and interactive demonstrations that translate research into practice.

Who should attend? Educators, students, industry leaders, agency staff, commodity groups, consultants, community partners, and anyone interested in the future of Nebraska agriculture and horticulture. The program will be accessible for all experience levels and designed to support new connections and practical next steps.
