The Nebraska State Fair isn't just about fun and games. On specific dates, it changes into Nebraska’s Largest Classroom, immersing more than 4,500 state-wide youths in agricultural wonders.
While the fair remains open to everyone, the special events on Friday, Aug. 25, Tuesday, Aug. 29 and Wednesday, Aug. 30 stand out. Jaime Parr, the Executive Director, expresses enthusiasm for these unique educational opportunities. These events provide kids a firsthand look into agriculture. From seeing animals up close to understanding the journey of food from farm to table, it's an invaluable learning experience.
Young learners will participate in diverse activities, including cow milking, sheep shearing, power safety demonstrations, germ investigations, Nebraska natural resource lessons, and Kool-Aid flavors. They will also explore agriculture's impact on Nebraska, with focus points on dairy, pork, and wheat.
State Fair, with the theme "Whatever Your Flavor," is held at Grand Island from August 25 to September 4. Visit StateFair.org to learn more.
