Nebraska Workshops Dive into Ag Land Leasing

Nebraska Workshops Dive into Ag Land Leasing

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Center for Agricultural Profitability is launching its 2023 Landlord/Tenant Cash Rent Workshops in central and eastern Nebraska. These sessions are designed to empower both landowners and operators with updated knowledge on Nebraska's current cash rental rates and land values. Participants will gain insights into the best practices for agricultural leases, including crucial contract considerations.

The importance of farm succession and transition planning will also be highlighted, providing attendees with a roadmap to ensure the longevity of their farming legacy. Those who attend can look forward to getting answers to all their leasing queries, making this a must-attend for anyone in the agricultural sector.

Two distinguished individuals, Jim Jansen, an agricultural economist, and Allan Vyhnalek, extension educator emeritus, will be at the helm of these presentations.

Although there's no fee to attend these workshops, participants need to register in advance.

Registration can be accomplished by reaching out to the respective host county’s extension office. For instance, the workshop in Fremont is scheduled for Aug. 17, from 1-4 p.m. at the office of Nebraska Extension in Dodge County, 1206 W. 23rd St. Those interested can register by Aug. 15 by dialing 402-727-2775.
