The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is gearing up to conduct two major mid-year surveys in Nebraska: the June Agricultural Survey and the June Area Survey. These thorough surveys play a key role in acquiring crucial data on crop acreage and stock levels in the state.
The information gathered from these surveys is crucial in calculating the anticipated acreage and availability of key commodities across the US for the crop year 2023.
To ensure accurate representation, producers in Nebraska have multiple options to participate in the surveys. They can conveniently respond online, by phone, or via mail, providing detailed information on planted and harvested acreage, grain stocks, livestock inventory, land values, and sales.
Following the survey collection period, the USDA will meticulously analyze the obtained data. The findings will be compiled and released through USDA reports on June 30, 2023. These reports are invaluable, contributing essential insights to various agricultural reports and estimates, ultimately aiding in forecasting commodity supply, and supporting informed decision-making in the agricultural industry.
