The Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB) is introducing an innovative program, the Collegiate Farm Bureau Student Fellowship, to enhance the involvement of its collegiate members at the state level. This initiative addresses the growing interest among young members in connecting and contributing within the agricultural community.
Under the direction of Audrey Schipporeit, NEFB’s Director of Generational Engagement, the program aims to provide a comprehensive experience at the NEFB Annual Meeting. Participants will be exposed to various facets of the event, including policy development, educational workshops, and networking opportunities.
The fellowship is designed to help students forge valuable relationships with established farmers, ranchers, and their peers across Nebraska. It focuses on instilling an appreciation of the Farm Bureau’s role in agricultural policy and helping students find their place in the organization post-graduation.
A highlight of the NEFB Annual Meeting, scheduled for December 3, will be the Collegiate Discussion Meet finals. This event offers a stage for two students from each Collegiate Farm Bureau Chapter to showcase their insights, with the winner advancing to a national-level discussion meet.
Interested students can apply for the fellowship online, with all expenses covered, to attend the NEFB Annual Meeting. This initiative is part of NEFB’s broader commitment to nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders and professionals.
