USDA Hosts Farmers Market at National Mall

By Jamie Martin

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is excited to announce the Great American Farmers Market, a vibrant summer event set to take place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This one-of-a-kind celebration will run from Sunday, August 3 to Friday, August 8, each day from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET, coinciding with National Farmers Market Week and the America 250 celebration.

The market will feature over 50 vendors daily from 28 states, offering a variety of farm-fresh products, including fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, baked goods, and artisanal items. Each day will be packed with engaging, family-friendly programming, performances, and interactive activities designed to highlight various aspects of American agriculture.

“America’s farmers, ranchers, and producers dedicate their lives to feeding their fellow citizens, and the Great American Farmers Market gives us the perfect opportunity to showcase the rich bounty of our agriculture on the National Mall. No President has supported farmers more than President Trump. Every single day we are fighting for our farmers and ranchers by cutting taxes, strengthening the farm safety net, and delivering huge wins in the One Big Beautiful Bill so producers can continue feeding our nation for generations to come,” said Secretary Rollins. “This historic farmers market will give visitors to our nation’s capital opportunities to learn, shop, snack, and explore.”

The market kicks off on Sunday, August 3 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, and an opening celebration themed “America Grows,” marking 250 years of agriculture and liberty.

The market will feature unique daily themes, including:

  • MAHA Monday (Aug 4): A focus on food, health, and wellness, with cooking demonstrations and fun goat yoga sessions.
  • Faith and Fellowship Tuesday (Aug 5): A day of spiritual reflection, featuring music and a special appearance by Dr. Alveda King.
  • Forests and Firefighters Wednesday (Aug 6): Learn about wildfire safety with Smokey Bear and more.
  • America the Beautiful Day (Aug 7): Seed planting, garden tours, and a glimpse into American agricultural history.
  • Farmer First Friday (Aug 8): A tribute to farmers, including face painting and a special movie night.
