Women in Agriculture Book Club Launch

Women in Agriculture Book Club Launch

By Scout Nelson

The Nebraska Women in Agriculture program, in collaboration with Annies Project, has selected The Gap and The Gain as the featured title for its first quarter Book Club. The program will conclude with a virtual discussion scheduled for 1 p.m. Central Time on March 9.

Written by Dr Benjamin Hardy, the book is based on a powerful concept developed by entrepreneur coach Dan Sullivan. The book explains how people often measure success the wrong way. As shared in the book, unsuccessful people focus on “The Gap,” while successful people focus on “The Gain.”

The central idea encourages individuals to measure progress by comparing their present achievements with their past efforts instead of comparing themselves to an ideal goal that keeps moving further away. This shift in thinking helps people recognize growth, build confidence, and stay motivated even during challenging times.

The book highlights how this mindset can improve emotional well-being by promoting gratitude and a stronger sense of accomplishment. By focusing on what has already been achieved, individuals are better able to appreciate progress in both personal and professional life.

The virtual book club discussion will be led by special guest Calli Thorne, a certified speaker, coach, trainer, and facilitator. She brings a unique perspective that blends practical agricultural experience with motivational leadership and personal development.

Registration for the book club is free and open to everyone. The first 25 people who register will receive a complimentary copy of the book mailed to them. All participants are welcome regardless of background or status.

Interested individuals can register through the Nebraska Women in Agriculture website or directly using this link:
