The second annual Nebraska Precision Agriculture Conference will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Hall County Extension Office in Grand Island, Nebraska. The event’s theme, “Getting Back to Basics,” aims to help farmers and ag professionals focus on the fundamentals of precision farming while adapting to new and emerging technologies.
As agriculture becomes increasingly advanced with automation, sensors, data analytics, and artificial intelligence, the conference seeks to ensure that participants have a strong grasp of the essential concepts that form the foundation of digital and precision agriculture. Sessions will also help experienced growers improve their return on investment (ROI) by using the technologies already available to them.
The Nebraska Precision Agriculture Conference brings together producers, educators, researchers, and ag professionals to share expertise and promote innovation in precision farming practices. It is designed to:
- Provide practical insights into using precision technologies effectively.
- Help the public understand how agricultural technology benefits modern production.
- Offer professional development for students, educators, and extension staff.
This year’s program will follow the crop production cycle, demonstrating how technology supports every stage of farming — from soil preparation and planting to harvest and future planning. Presentations will include real-world examples, blending basic principles with actionable strategies that enhance efficiency, profitability, and environmental sustainability.
Registration for the event is $50 per person, which includes lunch. The conference will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and pre-registration is required by Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
The event is a collaborative effort between the University of Nebraska Extension and the Nebraska GIS/LIS Association, showcasing the state’s commitment to agricultural education and innovation.
