Nearly 500 Huskers Earn Spring 2026 Recognition

By Scout Nelson

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has recognized nearly 500 students for their outstanding performance in the spring semester of the 2025–26 academic year. These students were included in the Deans’ Commendation List, which celebrates strong academic results.

The list highlights students from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, along with other colleges such as Arts and Sciences, Education and Human Sciences, Engineering, and Journalism and Mass Communications. To qualify, students must achieve a high grade-point average while completing between six and eleven graded semester hours.

Each college has its own minimum GPA requirement. For example, the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources requires at least 3.75 GPA. Other colleges such as Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Journalism, and Mass Communications require a 3.7 GPA. These standards reflect the dedication and hard work of the students.

Several students from agricultural fields stood out for their achievements. Libby Wilkins from Ainsworth was recognized for agricultural leadership, education, and communication. Megan Kindschuh of Axtell also earned honors in the same field. Laura Albro from Bayard was recognized for her work in agronomy, while Eli Weber from Bruning was honored for achievements in agribusiness.

Other notable students include Westin Bonsack from Dannebrog for agronomy, Jordyn Bohuslavsky from David City for agribusiness, and Braeden Anderson from Gothenburg for integrated science. Students from Lincoln such as Caitlin Andersen in fisheries and wildlife and Maleah Crisp in animal science also earned recognition.

These achievements show the importance of agriculture education and its growing role in academic success. The recognition not only celebrates individual efforts but also highlights the strength of Nebraska’s agricultural programs.

The university continues to support excellence in education and encourages students to perform at their best. Being named to the Deans’ Commendation List is a proud achievement and a reflection of dedication, discipline, and commitment to learning.
