By Scout Nelson

The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) has announced the 2023-2024 Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council (NAYC), consisting of college students, who will play a crucial role in promoting agricultural knowledge and leadership among young Nebraskans.

NDA Director Sherry Vinton lauds NAYC for its tradition of cultivating leadership excellence in Nebraska's agriculture. The council members, known for their skills, talent, and agricultural knowledge, are dedicated to both learning and educating others about the nuances of Nebraska's agriculture.

The Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council (NAYC) is a leading organization in agriculture, promoting education about food origins and career paths for high school students. Their 53rd-year-long Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute (NAYI) is the longest-running program in the nation, supported by numerous sponsors, and is a key event in their outreach efforts.

The 2023-2024 NAYC leadership, comprising Levi Schiller and Kaleb Senff as head counselors, Madison Kreifels as president, and other dedicated members, represents a diverse group from across Nebraska. These student leaders, along with additional council members, are at the forefront of advocating for agriculture and guiding the youth towards various career opportunities in this vital industry.

Christin Kamm, NDA Director of Communications and NAYC Advisor, emphasizes the importance of teaching youth about agriculture's value. She praises the council members for their commitment to promoting Nebraska agriculture and providing insightful career guidance.
