The Nebraska Corn Board's commitment to promoting biofuels took a pivotal turn when they hosted delegates from South Korea post the U.S. Grains Council’s (USGC) Global Ethanol Summit in Washington, D.C. The summit was a knowledge-packed event featuring expert discussions about the biofuel sector's intricacies.
A South Korean team visited Nebraska to understand American biofuel operations, visiting supply chains, ethanol producers, and local farmers. They visited Cooperative Producers, Inc. and Jason Lewis' farm in Henderson, learning about irrigated and non-irrigated corn farming. The delegation had a unique experience riding a combine with the Lewis family, showcasing the nuances of American farming.
Jason Lewis from Henderson emphasizes the importance of harvest time for trade teams, as it provides real-time insights into corn origins and global markets, allowing producers to understand international demands and visitors to experience crop cultivation intricacies.
The delegation visited Nebraska's biofuel infrastructure, including the Green Plains ethanol plant, Bosselman's Fuel, Magellan Fuel Terminal, and Pump and Pantry venue. They also interacted with the Nebraska Ethanol Board, Renewable Fuels Nebraska, Nebraska Farm Bureau, and Nebraska Department of Agriculture.
The Global Ethanol Summit, attended by participants from over 40 nations, highlighted the decarbonization potential of bioethanol in transportation and highlighted its environmental and health benefits.
