Nebraska farm bureau awards six LEAD scholarships

By Scout Nelson

The future of agriculture in Nebraska looks bright, thanks to the dedicated efforts of organizations like the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation. Committed to nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders, the foundation has recently awarded scholarships to six deserving agricultural professionals. These scholarships will allow recipients to participate in the Nebraska LEAD program.

Megahn Schafer, head of the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation, praised the Nebraska LEAD program for supporting individuals passionate about agriculture and eager to invest in their futures. The program aims to enhance leadership skills and expand knowledge on various agricultural topics and perspectives.

This particular scholarship is special. Those who bag this scholarship aren't just participants. They are Farm Bureau members, pledging to assume leadership roles within the Farm Bureau once they wrap up the LEAD program.

Among the scholarship recipients are Adam Oldemeyer from Ayr; April Delsing of Hemingford; Dalton Kenning from Wood River; Jake Werner hailing from Lincoln; Jonathan Lechtenberg of Imperial; and Michelle Bose from Arcadia.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting education and public understanding of agriculture in Nebraska. Its mission is to highlight the importance of agriculture in every Nebraskan's life and continues to make significant contributions to the agricultural sector in the state.
