Nebraska Extension Holds Crop Insurance Workshop

Nebraska Extension Holds Crop Insurance Workshop

On October 19, the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island will host a workshop on crop insurance and risk management, aimed at enhancing knowledge among attendees. The event, organized by the Nebraska Extension, will feature crop and livestock producers, insurance specialists, and other ag industry professionals.

The venue, located at 700 E. Stolley Park Rd. will witness a gathering of crop and livestock producers, insurance specialists, and others in the ag industry. From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Crop insurance knowledge can significantly impact producers' financial stability, according to a representative from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Department of Agricultural Economics, preventing fiscal stress and ensuring financial stability.

Participants can look forward to a comprehensive program. The workshop promises updates from the USDA Risk Management Agency, insights into market outlooks for both crops and livestock, and specialized sessions on a range of topics.

These include the Annual Forage and Livestock Risk Protection programs, the 2023 farm bill, and innovative strategies for margin protection. Discussions on current climate trends and stress resilience are also on the agenda. Attendees can also enjoy a hearty lunch during the event.

This workshop is just a fragment of a collaborative series by Nebraska Extension, Kansas State University Research, and Colorado State University Extension.

The registration fee for the enlightening session is $100, due by Oct. 14. Late registrations incur an additional fee. Interested individuals can register at https://cropinsure.unl.edu/ or contact a University of Nebraska-Lincoln representative.
