In agricultural innovation, Heritable Agriculture, a Google Labs spinoff, has developed artificial intelligence (AI) models to analyze plant genomes. These models aim to optimize crop yield, photosynthetic efficiency, taste, and nutrition. They have been trained on 14,000 field trial samples across Nebraska, Wisconsin, and California, covering seven different crops.
A recent economic contribution study revealed that Nebraska Extension, present in nearly all 93 counties, contributed $132 million in economic output to the state. This underscores the organization's role in supporting education, research, and agricultural development.
